once the bridge was cleared

i could count on your hands as being soft.

there were too many ways to break through the ice and we slept it off so that we could be together and real again.

i don't want you to take my picture.

i want you to stare at yourself for a long time until the slow movements of your face finally make sense and then you can tell me what i need to get ready for as i pack the bags and fold the blankets.

i'm trying to learn. i'm really feeling the loss these days. the woods behind my house are burning tonight and there are no pills to help me scare off the burning in my head. feel me out. dig out of me. don't forget to stand when you see the clouds melt into my bare shoulders.
